Local youths try their hands at shooting a variety of air pistols and air rifles under the supervision of the Saskatchewan Handgun Association.

The Saskatchewan Handgun Association hosted and supervised an air pistol and air rifle clinic Dec. 16 at the Battlefords Wildlife Federation.

The clinic was aimed towards boys and girls 12-17 years of age in an attempt to find shooters for the upcoming Saskatchewan Winter Games held in Prince Albert this February.

The association needs shooters from the Rivers West Zone, including the Battlefords, Lloydminster, Kindersley and Rosetown.

The youth were taught the basic skills of shooting the air pistol and air rifle, including stance, aiming and how to select their dominant eye.
