The regular season for most hockey players is at least a month away, but that doesn't mean it isn't time for hockey to start.
Monday was the first day of five of the Saskatchewan Hockey Association's Skill of Gold Camp at the Civic Centre in North Battleford.
The ice is in and the attendance for the camp is up again this year, the third in the Battlefords. Jason L'Heureux says the numbers have jumped from 68 last year to 75 this year.
Male and females with midget AAA, junior and college hockey experience make up the camp's coaching staff, as the groups were broke into three age groups - initiation/novice, atom/peewee and bantam/midget.
All age groups had two ice sessions Monday and two off-ice sessions as well.
