The first ever Battlefords club basketball for boys in Grades 4 to 6 began in November and their first season came to an end last month.
The Battlefords Suns, were made up of students from four local schools and only one Grade 6 players with the rest being Grades 4 and 5 students.
To the knowledge of coach Mike Rathwell this team is the first of its kind in the Battlefords.
The Suns played exhibition games against school teams from Unity and the Battlefords and also played in the Holy Family tournament playing against many older players. In the tournament the Suns won once and lost the third place game in a nail bitter by one point.
To conclude the season, the Suns took to the court against their parents for a fun end to the first season of club basketball April 11.
