It was a busy week for basketball.
The Three Lakes School Avengers senior boys' basketball team first played a game against Lake Lenore Lancers on January 18. The Lancers won the game 86-82.
Although the Avengers lost the game, they played very well, said coach Edmund Ruiz. They showed excellent basketball skills and teamwork.
Then the Avengers hosted an eight-team basketball tournament January 21. They placed fifth in the tournament.
"We lost (our first game) against Imperial and then we won against Meath Park, then lost against Lake Lenore, so we ended up in fifth place," said Ruiz.
He said all the teams played very well and showed great basketball skills and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
"There were fantastic shots, especially in the semi-final," said Ruiz. "They showed really great skill."
