Three Lakes School in Middle Lake held their annual sports banquet on June 9.
All the sports teams at the school did well this year, bringing home many new titles and medals.
Some of the exciting awards the school received this year was a silver medal for the senior girls' basketball team from Hoopla , a district championship in track and field, and the senior girls' soccer team won the school's first ever gold medal in that sport.
Those were just a few highlights from the sports year. The school is proud of all its athletes.
"Our school does not only excel at any one sport, but many," said Trevor Otsig, a teacher at Middle Lake School.
The guest speaker at this year's banquet was former Saskatchewan Roughrider, Don Narcisse, who spoke to the students about overcoming adversity and working hard to meet goals.
"Nobody's going to give you anything in life because if they give it to you they can take it back," said Narcisse.
Narcisse talked about his life experience with football and how he became a starting receiver with the Roughriders.
He also credited parents with their large role in young athletes' lives.
"If it was not for them, you wouldn't be where you are today," Narcisse said about parents.
