It wasn't the nicest of days but that didn't stop all the New Horizons from showing up to curl on the lastTuesday in January. Those from out-of-town were the first there, some not knowing if they would get back home.
Three of the seven games played ended in a tie.The first was Belyk coming back and stealing in both the seventh and eighth ends to tie the Roger rink.
On the first sheet it was Wayne Lambie starting offwith two in each of the first two ends and if Alexander Scott hadn't missed his last rock the game would not of ended also in a tie.
The third game in the morning draw saw Dick Wisner's team score three in the sixth to break that game open and give him the win.
After lunch it was Ed Kjargaard along with the Christansens who got back to their winning ways and sent Rod packing.
On the next sheet Wally Gordey gave up one to Ralph Hall's rink in the sixth end to surrender the lead, which they held for the balance of the game.
On sheet five it was Horrell against Korpach and they were all tied up coming home with Dick Horrell having the final stone. It was an open house and you could either draw or take out a rock half in the 12-foot.He opted for the latter and I believe playing with the stick for the first time did him in as he slid past.
Sheet six saw a rather odd game as Bob Krismer counted on each of the fist four ends, but let the Pauls rink do the same in the final four and the game ended in a 5-5 tie.
As it stands after four rounds Korpach has not had a loss. They are followed by Hall, Kjargaard and Wisner who have each had one.
