Both Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League series were 2-1 in favour of the higher seed after three games.
In the Bauer Conference final, the Humboldt Broncos won two games on home ice before being shutout in game three by Devin Buffalo and the Flin Flon Bombers. The two teams were set to face off Wednesday in Flin Flon with game five scheduled for Friday back in Humboldt.
In the Sherwood Conference, Yorkton led the series 2-0, but lost on Monday to make it a 2-1 series heading into action Wednesday. Each game in the series finished 3-1, as the teams have been switching back and forth each game unlike the Bauer Conference. Game five will go Friday in Yorkton.
SJHL Players of the Week
All four teams remaining had one player earn player of the week honours.
The goaltender of the week was Flin Flon's Buffalo. He made highlight reel saves in both losses, but was the main reason the first game against Humboldt was sent to double overtime. He faced 90 shots in the first two games.
Humboldt's Logan Sproule was named the defenceman of the week for his strong defensive play as well as adding a goal and an assist in the first two games.
The rookie of the week was Melville's Zach Simpson. The young defenceman stepped into fill a void on the Millionaires blue-line after Brennan Ritchie was knocked out of the lineup with an injury.
The player of the week was Yorkton's Jeremy Johnson, who had all three goals in Yorkont's game-one win over Melville.
