Tough week for a number of Humboldt hockey teams

Midget AA It was an up and down week for the Midget AA Broncos who split a pair of weekend contests. The week got off to a tough start for the green and gold as they were routed 6-0 by Warman on Jan. 6 in Humboldt.

Midget AA

It was an up and down week for the Midget AA Broncos who split a pair of weekend contests.

The week got off to a tough start for the green and gold as they were routed 6-0 by Warman on Jan. 6 in Humboldt.

Ryland Pronych was charged with the loss in the Broncos goal allowing six goals on 42 shots as the Broncos trailed 3-0 after the first period, and 5-0 after the second.

Less than 24 hours after the loss to Warman, the Broncos were back on the ice, knocking off Prince Albert 5-3 in Humboldt.

Hunter Edmonds led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Gavin Ingram, Damon Vanderlinde, and Brock Morrow each chipped in with a pair as the Broncos trailed 1-0 after the first, and led 2-1 after period two.

Midget A

It was a tough week for the Midget A Broncos as they lost each of their two games.

The week did not get off to a great start for the Broncos as they were routed 7-2 by Raymore/Strasbourg on Jan. 3 in LeRoy.

Bray Berschiminsky and Carson Horachek each found the back of the net for the Broncos, who trailed 2-1 after period one, and 4-2 after period two.

The Broncos’ final game of the week was much closer, but was still not close enough, as they fell 5-3 to Lanigan on Jan. 6 in Humboldt.

Lance Stadnyk, Ethan Beggs, and Kaleb Pulice each scored once for the Broncos, who led 1-0 after the first and trailed 3-2 after the second period.  

Bantam AA

It was a tough week for the Bantam AA Broncos who saw their nine game point streak snapped, as they finished the week with a 1-2 record.

The Broncos kicked off their week on a low note as they dropped a 4-3 decision to Warman on Jan. 4 in LeRoy.

Dawson Barlage led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Easton Ediger added a single as the Broncos were tied 1-1 after one, and trailed 3-2 after period two.

The week did not get any better for the Broncos on Jan. 6 as they were demolished 11-2 by Martensville in Humboldt.

Ediger, and Austin Berezowski each scored once for the Broncos, who trailed 3-1 after the first and 7-1 after the second.

The final game of the week went much better for the Broncos as they knocked off the Saskatoon Generals 7-3 on Jan. 7 in Humboldt.

Ediger led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring three times, while Barlage, Kylynn Olafson, Kaiden Korolchuk, and Luke Stadnyk each scored once as the Broncos led 1-0 after the first, and were tied 3-3 after the second.

Bantam A

The Bantam A Broncos did not have a good week as they were throttled 12-4 by Drake/ViCo on Jan. 3 in Viscount.

Carter Pavelich, Jack Biemans, Kylen Klettberg, and Rayden Ottman all found the back of the net for the Broncos, who trailed 4-2 after the first period, and 8-3 after the second.

Peewee 1

It was also a struggle for the Peewee 1 Broncos as they were routed 12-4 by Davidson on Jan. 5 in Humboldt.

Carson Haugan led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Seamus Menz and Karver Simoneau each scored once as the Broncos trailed 4-1 after the first, and 9-2 after period two.

Peewee 2

It was a tough week for the Peewee 2 Broncos as they were upended 4-2 by Muenster on Jan. 7 in Humboldt.

Kayd Ruedig and Thomas Ries had the goals for the Broncos who trailed 1-0 after the first period and 3-0 after the second.

Atom Tier 2

It was a solid week for the Tier 2 Broncos as they picked up a win and a tie in a pair of games.

The Broncos’ wins came on Jan. 7 in Watson where they knocked off the AtoMc 1 Scorpions 4-2 in the early game before tying 4-4 in the late game.

Atom North

It was a tough week for the Atom North Broncos as they lost a nail biter 3-2 against Muenster on Jan. 7 in Humboldt.

Cohen Siermachesky and Liam Zimmerman did the scoring for the Broncos, who trailed 2-0 after the first, and 3-1 after period two.

Atom South

It was an up and down week for the Atom South Broncos, who split a pair of contests.

The week got off to a tough start for the green and gold as they were dropped a tight 6-5 decision to Raymore on Jan. 2 in Raymore.

Carter Possberg led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice, while Sloan Harder, Jackson Haugan, and Maya Mortenson chipped in with one goal each as the Broncos trailed 4-2 after the first period, and 4-3 after the second.

After enjoying a couple of days off, the Broncos responded to their loss in a big way as they knocked off ViCo 8-4 on Jan. 6 in Humboldt.

Harder and Haugan led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring four times each as they led 3-0 after the first period, and 6-1 after the second.

Novice 2

There was no shortage of offense for the Novice 2 Broncos last week as they piled up 35 goals in a pair of wins.

The Broncos kicked off their week by cruising past Wadena J 12-4 on Jan. 5 in Wadena.

Tryce Wallin and Thadeus Molsberry led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring three times each, while Carter Trann and Tylan Wallin each scored twice, and Elias Hillier and Jake Hoppe each added a single as the Broncos led 5-3 after period one, and 7-4 after the second.

The Broncos wrapped up their week with a bang as they demolished Muenster/Lake Lenore B 23-0 on Jan. 6 in LeRoy.

Hoppe and Tryce Wallin led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring six times each, while Trann added four goals, Jonah Hayward added a trio, and Cohen Massier-Kubiak, and Hillier each scored twice, as the Broncos led 6-0 after the first period and 13-0 after the second.

Novice 3

It was a solid week for the Novice 3 Broncos as they picked up wins in each of their two contests.

The Broncos opened their week with a 7-3 win over Muenster/Lake Lenore B on Jan. 4 in Lake Lenore.

Sloan Harder led the way offensively scoring five times, while Mason Parobec and Grady Clark each chipped in with a single as the Broncos led 3-0 after the first and 4-1 after the second.

The Broncos wrapped up their week in fine fashion as they blew out Wadena J 15-4 on Jan. 6 in Humboldt.

Harder once again led the way offensively scoring eight times, while Carter Possberg added four goals, and Hudson Armstrong chipped in with three as the Broncos led 4-0 after the first and 1-0-2 after the second.

Novice 4

It was a decent week for the Novice 4 Broncos as they finished with a tie and a loss in a pair of contests.

The week got off to a bad start for the Broncos as they were downed 11-2 by Southey on Jan. 2 in Watson.

Seth Holtvogt led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring twice as the Broncos led 3-0 after one, and 8-0 after period two.

The Broncos wrapped up their week by tying Watrous 10-10 on Jan. 6 in Humboldt.

Holtvogt led the way offensively for the Broncos scoring six times, while Cohen Jenkins chipped in with a pair, and Mathias Puetz, and Wyatt Meekins each scored once, as the Broncos were tied at one after the first, and trailed 7-5 after the second.
