It's becoming a familiar sight - the Lloydminster Twins winning the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League championship.

The series came to an end Sunday when a battle between the Lloydminsters was decided.

The Lloydminster Twins swept the Border City Blue Jays in the best of three games series, giving them five straight league championships. Sunday's 6-5 victory was preceded by a 10-2 win Wednesday.

Going into the finals, both teams looked evenly matched. The Blue Jays finished the regular season with an 11-3 record and allowed the fewest runs among NSRBL teams. The Twins also won 11 and lost four. Only Wilkie scored more runs than the Twins' 103.

Each team lost just one game each in the playoffs. The Twins outscored their opponents by a score of 30-16 in five games. The Blue Jays bettered their opposition 30-9.

While Border City looked to have the upper hand, the Twins could smell the opportunity to increase their championship streak and they capitalized.

That marks the end of baseball season until May.
