Two Carlton Trail Ski Club racers medal at provincials

HUMBOLDT — Two members of the Carlton Trail Ski Club race team earned medals at the provincial championships.

HUMBOLDT — Two members of the Carlton Trail Ski Club race team earned medals at the provincial championships.

At the Cross Country Saskatchewan Provincial Championships in Flin Flon on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, Brayden Nivon from Lanigan won gold in both his Saturday and Sunday races while Claire Gullacher of Englefeld won silver on Saturday and bronze on Sunday.

The two skiers set the stage at a race in Regina the weekend before, Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10. The Saturday 6.5 kilometre classic style event saw Gullacher of earn a first place finish in the Midget girls and Nivon finished second in the Midget boys.

The Sunday five kilometre freestyle race presented some exciting finishes, with both Carlton Trail skiers winning first place in their respective categories.
