Do you realize that each and every time the New Horizons play golf, they are in a tournament? So it was Tuesday when 42 showed up to play at 9:30 a.m.

It was easy to determine the winners this time. In fact, it was predicted before the first ball was struck who they would be. Sure enough; it was Bernice and Wally Scott, Bernie Meisner and Bruce Dalshaug. They came in at even par.Dalshaug also gets an extra ball for coming closest to the pin on eighth hole. The winning team was consistent all round shooting par on every hole.

In second place, at one over and also no surprise, was Herman Friesen, Lynn Williams, Allie Raycraft and Wally Gordey.

At one stroke back were Art Strueby, Etta Meisner, Dave Page and John Yarske.

The consolation prizes go to John MacFarlane, Ken Schwab, Don Beggs and Pea Prutti.

Gerry Bristow gets a clean car, courtesy of the Co-op for having the longest putt on the final hole.

The New Horizons were also golfing Sept. 6 even with the thermometer showing slightly above freezing to start the day off. It did however warm up and so did the scores.

The high score was the first team out and the top score was near the last.

On a count-back, and with a birdie on eight, it was the team of Dalshaug, Norm Soiseth, Yarske and Gordey who took home the top honours. They edged out Bernie Gregoire with the Scotts, as both teams came in with pars.

The next prize went to Jutta and Lyle Whitbread along with Page and Joe Waldbillig.

The consolation balls go to Tom Frey, Bristow, Raycraft and Dick Blom.

Don Murray came closest to the pin on eight and Marian McNabb had the longest putt on nine.

Monday will be the final regular outing of the season.Everyone will have to get their names in and pay Jack to be eligible for the afternoon shot-gun start and supper the following week.
