Unity Western Days Rodeo kicks off this weekend and will feature competitors from four provinces and two U.S. states.

The rodeo, which goes June 2 and 3, is one of more than 60 competitive rodeos sanctioned by the Canadian Cowboy Association, Canada's premier semi-professional membership organization that supports and fosters up-and-coming rodeo talent.

"The semi-professional competitors you'll see in Unity all have the drive, talent and skills to become professional rodeo champions of tomorrow," said CCA general manager Mark Bencze.

The season may have only just begun, but each competition is an opportunity for members to rack up the points they'll need to quality for the CCA Finals Rodeo held annually during Canadian Western Agribition Nov. 20 to 24.

The rodeo begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
