Teams score big with the WHL

Last year, it was the Battlefords Novice Rams who had an opportunity to go to a WHL game through the Western Hockey League Youth Experience Contest.

This year 10 teams were chosen from 65 communities and one includes Glaslyn. Joining the Glaslyn Atom North Stars on the list of winners was Dinsmore, Eatonia/Leader, Ochapowace, Preeceville, Watrous/Imperial, Kyle, Eston, Kinistino and Tisdale.

The contest is held in conjunction with SaskEnergy Hockey Day in Saskatchewan.

"SaskEnergy congratulates the 10 winning teams from across the province and is pleased to partner up with the WHL to invest in Saskatchewan's young hockey players," said Larry Doke, MLA for Cut Knife-Turtleford, on behalf of the Honourable Dustin Duncan, Minister Responsible for SaskEnergy. "We hope the shared hockey experience will be a lot of fun, but will also help to strengthen and motivate them as individuals and as a team."

The lucky winners will attend the Saskatoon Blades home game Friday against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
