Wilkie and NBCHS wrestle for bronze medals

Wilkie and North Battleford Comprehensive High School both sent representatives to Regina on the weekend and both teams returned with at least one bronze medal.

Schalk Engelbrecht of NBCHS wrestled in the 82kg division with nine others from across the province and finished with a bronze medal.

Taylor Reily competed in the 62kg event and finished in sixth place.

NBCHS's Taisley Isaac was one of 10 who wrestled in the 56kg female division, but finished outside the playoffs round.

Erica Landrie also competed at provincials and was outside of the playoffs in the 80kg division.

Wilkie won three provincial bronze medals. Rylan Petterson was third in the 77kg division, Cole Veit won bronze in the 110kg division and Celina Risling was third in the female 47kg division.

Wilkie's Matt Grbic was sixth in the 110+kg division as well and Kyle Risling competed in the 50kg class. Cody Black was in the 53kg division, Nick Nielsen competed in the 90kg class and Megan Weber was in the female 80kg division.

Wilkie also finished third overall in 3A school points for boys, as they had 11 points, four back of Regina Miller of second overall. The Wilkie girls earned five overall points and were tied for sixth place.
