Battleford product Blake Young will have a chance to win the top prize in NCAA men's hockey Saturday night in Chicago.

The former Battlefords North Stars forward will take to the ice at the United Center with the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs as they'll take on the Denver Pioneers in the Frozen Four final.

The Bulldogs earned a berth into the championship game Thursday night with a dramatic 2-1 win over the Harvard Crimson.

Alex Iafallo broke a tie between the two sides with 26.6 seconds left in the third period, but the Bulldogs had to survive a late charge by the Crimson that saw forward Luke Esposito hit the crossbar in the final seconds.

Young, who is in his junior season with the Bulldogs and has three points in 24 games this year, had a shot on goal in the victory.

In order to win their second national title in school history and their first since 2011, the Bulldogs will have to defeat their National Collegiate Hockey Conference rivals in the Pioneers.

They advance to the final with a dominant 6-1 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Saturday's championship game will get underway at 6 p.m.
