The gold medal winners of the second annual Battlefords Youth Curling Spiel are skip Colton Allaire along with Thomas McNinch and Marshall Lonesinger.

While most school-aged kids look to get out of their houses during the school break in February, a group of youth were in the house - the house on the curling rink that is.

Eight teams of curlers 14 and under participated in the one-day event at the Battleford Curling Club Saturday. All the curlers gained more experience and knowledge of the game as well as a prize.

Colton Allaire skipped the gold medal winning team and his teammates were Thomas McNinch and Marshall Lonesinger.

Taking second place honours was the team led by Cam Taylor and Melyna Bahler skipped the bronze medal winning team.
