The province's top seven teams competed for this year's Squirt "A" Boys' Provincial Fastball Championship in Warman over the long weekend.

The Sask Valley Red Sox, comprised of players from Maymont, Warman, Hague, Beardys and Dalmeny, represented Zone 7.

In the finals the Red Sox were up against their familiar rivals, Delisle Diamond Dogs, after the teams beat the Prince Albert Astros 1 and Prince Albert Astros 2 in their semi final games.

The two teams battled back and forth all season long in the Saskatoon Minor Softball league with both teams winning twice in their league games.

Sunday the Red Sox prevailed with a 4-2 victory.
