Television news projections are flooding in and the Liberals are projected to have won the Canadian federal election.
CBC News and CTV News have both projected a Liberal victory and that Justin Trudeau will take over as the next Prime Minister of Canada. It is still not clear if the Liberals will win a majority.
If the projection holds it means the Stephen Harper Conservative government will be out of power after nine years, which brings an end to the tenure of Gerry Ritz in cabinet as minister of Agriculture and Agri-foods. First returns have yet to come in for Battlefords-Lloydminster.
