Christopher Bajak has withdrawn his candidacy from the Battleford council race.

Candidates who submitted nomination forms were allowed to withdraw from the race up to 24 hours after the nomination deadline. With Bajak's withdrawal, there are eight people running for the six seats available on town council, with only one incumbent running, Susan McLean-Tady.

The News-Optimist is requesting that all candidates submit a 150 word blurb describing their motivations for running, their profession and a picture that can be published in the News-Optimist to [email protected]. This information will be published in the Oct. 17 edition of the News-Optimist.
