ADAM: Jean Mary Adam was born in North Battleford, SK on October 29, 1933, to James and Polly Weir. She grew up on a farm near North Battleford and attended the Metropole School with her three older brothers, George, Jim and Jack. She married her loving husband, George Adam in 1953. She began her long career with Woolworths/Woolco/Walmart in 1948 at the age of 15. Taking only four years off when she had her two children. She retired from Walmart in 1999. Jean spent much of her spare time with her family and friends at her favorite place, their cabin at Lanz Point. Jean is survived by her husband, George, North Battleford, SK; son, Gordon (Debbie) Adam, their children Trenton and Meagan, Lloydminster, AB; daughter Linda (Carey) Tollefson, their children Brooklyn and Kira, North Battleford; sisters-in-Law Mary Weir, Okotoks, AB, Margaret Weir, North Battleford, SK; cousin, Eileen (Jim) Graham, Vancouver, BC; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Jean was predeceased by her parents James and Polly Weir and her three brothers, George, Jim and Jack. The Funeral Service was held Sept 30, 2011 at "The Garden Chapel" of Battlefords Funeral Service, North Battleford, SK with Rev. Amanda Currie officiating. Gifts of music were shared by Organist, Glenn Goodman, and Soloists, Cammie Vany and Bob MacKay. The Honorary Pallbearers were "All those who shared in Jean's Life". Memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation. Interment took place at the City Cemetery, North Battleford, SK. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Battlefords Funeral Service.
