CHARTRAND - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eva Lucy Chartrand, late of North Battleford, on February 6, 2012 at the age of 93 years. Eva was born on April 3, 1918 at North Battleford, Saskatchewan. Survived by her children : Helen Cherwoniak, Maurice (Ann) Chartrand, Irene (Jim) Kivimaa, Doris (Larry) Poor, Paul Chartrand, Albert (Yvette) Chartrand. Grandchildren: Shawn & (Elaine) Dehker, Dean Duggan, Stacey (Glen) Long, Lori Chartrand, Shane Chartrand, Mike (Suzanne) Chartrand, Marcie (Jay) Chartrand, Billy Chartrand, Krista Kivimaa, Leanne Kivimaa, James (Paula) McKnight, Dawn (Vince) Chartand, Wendi (Nelson) Chartrand, Kurtis (Lorena) Chartrand, Albert Jr. Chartrand; Great Grandchildren: Shawn Jr. (Anita) Dehker and Kyra Dehker, Tyler and Taneal Long, Kaylee, Riley, Cosmo, Danara, Carley, Sarah, Jordan, Jayda, Braydon, Jayde, Nikolai, Tyson and Justice Chartrand, Morgan and Sandy Kivimaa, Kaytlynn, Tara, Mikayla, Justin, Jennaya, Nelson Jr, Ambrose, Kianew, Ava and Heaven. Great-Great Grandchildren: Donna and Vincent Dehker. Survived by : Her brother Leslie and his 3 daughters Shirley, Linda, and Cathy; as well as several cousins in England. Predeceased by : Her parents William Martin (1975), Agnus (1982), her husband Albert (1985). Son-in-law: Don Cherwoniak (2008). Sisters-in-law: Emilienna, Mary Jean, Olga and Jean. Brothers-in-law Paul, Lawrence and Jim. Also 2 infant grandchildren and one infant great-great-granddaughter. The funeral service was held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from Sallows and McDonald - Wilson and Zehner Funeral Home, North Battleford, with Reverend Sheldon Gattinger officiating. Helen Cherwoniak gave the eulogy. Music ministry was by Edna Soule as organist and Jaki Esquirol as soloist. Honorary pallbearers were: All those who shared in Eva's life. Pallbearers were: Roy Carnahan, James Carnahan, Allan Carnahan, Eugene Eckerman, Grant Halliday, and William Cherwoniak. The family have requested that memorial donations be made to Canadian Diabetes Association. Interment took place at the City of North Battleford Cemetery.
