DUNCAN:

DUNCAN: Jacqueline Louise States Duncan was born July 31, 1974 and passed away on April 2, 2012 at River Heights Lodge in North Battleford. Jackie was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia and as she had always wished, she will be sent home, to her final resting place at Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Jackie, as she was known by all, whose lives she touched, came to River Heights Lodge in November, 2003, after being diagnosed with MS. She fought a long and courageous battle, but now, she suffers no more. Jackie came into RHL, sporting quite an attitude, but, she left with a beautiful, peaceful spirit. Jackie had a smile that lit up a room! She loved many things: loud rock music (preferably, Poison) and her cartoon channel (preferably on at the same time as the music). She loved the color blue, University of Saskatchewan Huskies sweat pants, and t-shirts, long painted fingernails, her brown bear, wolves, cold water washes, and I can't leave out, the large picture of Rejean, our maintenance man, hanging on her wall. Jackie thought the world of Rejean! Jackie hadn't always had the easiest life, but she came to accept where she was, and what she had. She found forgiveness in her heart for others, but more importantly she found forgiveness for herself. Jackieyou are now resting in the arms of God, soaking up the rays of Heaven. We will always miss you here. Rest in Peace. I would just like to extend a big thank-you to those of you who so generously gave of your time, to see Jackie through her final days. Also I want to thank Jackie's Auntie Dawn, Uncle Bill and her cousin Matthew for making the trip from Calgary today. You have made this day, extra special for Jackie. Jackie is survived by her Mother, Caroline (Frank) Stevens, Canning, Nova Scotia; father, Ronnie States (Mary), Kentville, Nova Scotia; daughter, Chelsey States, Canning, Nova Scotia; son, Brandon Sangster, Canning, Nova Scotia. Jackie is also survived by Mark Sangster, the father of her children; her half-brothers, Rob Harrison and Ronnie Ross; step-sisters, Rachel and Lisa; step-brother, Billy; step-children, Angela, Kat and Nick Duncan; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins; maternal grandmother, Anna Blood; maternal step-grandmother, Dorothy (Took) Blood; close friends, Diane, Dale, Patsy, Joanne and all of the staff on the East side at RHL. Jackie was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Betty States; maternal grandfather, Tom Blood; paternal great-grandparents, Dot and Nate Myles and maternal great-grandparents, Ernest and Gladys Blood.
