PEPPINCK: Agnes Mary (nee Nelson) April 26, 1922 - June 17, 2011 It is with sadness that we share the passing of our mother, grandmother and sister. Agnes was born to Harriet & Harry Nelson in Battleford, Saskatchewan. She grew up on her family farm near Prongua, Sask with her 7 brothers & sisters. Agnes married Harry Peppinck in March of 1942. Agnes lived for much of her life in North Battleford, with a brief stay in Ontario during Harry's time in the air force and moved to Alberta to be with family during her later years. Agnes was very community minded. She was the president of the Saskatchewan Women's Curling, was very involved in the Legion & various local organizations. She leaves as her legacy her children Tom (Margie), Betty-Jayne (Scott), Keith (Diane), Richard (Patti) & Mary-Dee; as well as 15 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren. Agnes is also survived by her brother Jim (Janie) Nelson & sister Shirley (John) Block, brother in law John Peppinck and was predeceased by 4 of her siblings. She was also predeceased by her husband Harry & son Bob. To the very end Agnes was a lively personality and was always ready for a family gathering and had a well stocked social calendar. Agnes will be lovingly remembered by all those she knew & there will be fond memories left behind of times at the lake, stories by the campfire, puff wheat cake, gravy recipes & so much more. Agnes was a hard worker but knew the importance of enjoying life and even in her later years made time to go on adventures out to the coast or day trips throughout the province. The family extends much thanks to the staff at the Ironwood Estates for all that they did for her during her many years with them & the medical staff of Unit 29 at the Sturgeon Hospital. A funeral service will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403-St. Albert Trail, Edmonton, AB; on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Prongua at a later date.
