ZAYAC: It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce that Joe passed away peacefully at River Heights Lodge, North Battleford, SK on February 17, 2012 at the age of 78 years. Joe was born at Rabbit Lake, SK to Peter & Anna Zayac & grew up at Hatherleigh, SK where he later took over the family farm. Joe & Barb farmed until their retirement in 1997 when they moved to North Battleford. Left to cherish Joe's memory, his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara, daughter, Debbie (Gary) Sheppard & grandson, Chris (Kendra) Sheppard; brother, Morris (Kay) Zayac and sister, Kay Woytowich; sisters-in-law, Cary Walker (Gordon Irwin), Betty-Anne Stubbins (John) and LeeAnne (Bob) Bellamy; step-sisters: Anne Ewanchuk and Nellie Lee; step-brother, Louis (Joanie) Spak and step-sister-in-law, Dorothy Spak; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Joe was predeceased by his parents: Peter & Anna Zayac; step-father, Mike Spak; uncle, Fred Zayac; brothers-in-law: Paul Woytowich, Elmer Buck & Bob Walker, Stanley & Johnnie Bellamy; In-laws: John & Esther Bellamy; nephew, Mark Buck; niece, Bev Buck; great-nephew, Rylin Buck; step-brothers: John Spak, Walter Spak, Uhan Ewanchuk & Cal Anderson. A Graveside Memorial & Interment was held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at The North Battleford City Cemetery with Earl Millar presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations made in memory of Joe to River Heights Lodge Auxiliary, 2001 - 99 St, North Battleford, SK S9A 0S3 or to donor's choice.
