Dear Editor

We have just finished our weekend of the 100th anniversary of Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford. What a wonderful experience.

Kudos to the planning committee, Dr. Gray for his inspiring message, Frank Simpson for the excellent job as MC, the Legion for the service and lunch, Ian Hamilton for his heartwarming address and especially the staff of SHNB for the extra work I know this function made for them. Your warm, friendly demeanor was awesome. Also, thank you to all the patients for sharing your beautiful grounds with all of us.

Boots to all the former staff who live in the Battlefords and surrounding area who didn't put in an appearance. This was your loss as with the building of a new hospital, who knows what will happen to the old building. I hope that somehow the entrance can be utilized. What an amazing sight to drive up from the low road on that hillcrest and see that building.

We have had some amazing people pass through those doors and some spectacular memories. I wish there had been more of the core staff present - the "special" care aides, dietary, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance - for without you, the day-to-day treatment could not have happened.

God bless you all and thanks for the memories.

Angie N. Gardiner, RPN
