A student's view on alcohol and North Stars' games

I am in Grade 4. It is a split 3/4 class. My class and I were learning about government when the election was going on. My class and I did an election, all by ourselves.

I am in Grade 4. It is a split 3/4 class. My class and I were learning about government when the election was going on. My class and I did an election, all by ourselves. After we finished my teacher, Miss Scott, made our classroom just like a real voting place. It was a lot of fun doing and learning about the government!

A few weeks after the voting, Miss Scott told the whole class we were going to do an oral presentation project. It was lots of fun doing it! This letter is about mine. There are three different parts. They are my local issue, my opinion and issue resolution.

My local issue is the serving of alcohol in the stands at the North Stars' hockey games. People attend the hockey games as entertainment for the whole family. Many people spend more time getting or drinking alcohol then watching the game and cheering their team on.

My parents teach me that alcohol is not needed everywhere you go. I am also taught you should not drink and drive. At these hockey games people choose to drink during the whole game then drive home. This puts me, their children, and all the public in jeopardy.

My resolutions to this issue are: no alcohol at hockey games; alcohol served in the bar area only, with increased policing and a check stop after the game; alcohol served between periods, in the bar, not before and after the game.
