Dear Editor

I am writing this letter on behalf of my father, who due to his ongoing health issues, was hospitalized at Royal  University Hospital and at Battlefords Union Hospital. This was written prior to his passing Aug. 18.

These are his words,

Due to my ongoing health issues, I have been hospitalized in both facilities in Saskatoon and North Battleford for a lengthy period of time. During my stay, I have witnessed the difficult tasks my caregivers perform daily. I would like to personally thank the nurses, doctors, LPNs and all the caregivers for all the care and kindness I have received. I praise them for the duties they perform every day and know they deserve more.

I am asking those who may have loved ones who are hospitalized, or you are hospitalized yourself, to pay forward by showing these individuals recognition for all they do. They bring comfort and the best care to those they must care for. It takes only a brief moment to say thank you. They all deserve it. "

On behalf of the Woodbury family, we want to thank all of Dad’s caregivers and to Battlefords Union Hospital  for caring for our father. I also want to say as children to our father, the kindness, advice and compassion you gave to us in our time of need is appreciated so much and we are forever grateful.

So in closing, please recognize your caregivers. A token of appreciation goes a long way, and just a few words will truly make them proud of the professional care they provide to all.
