B.C. Dogs suffer too

Dear Editor It is disheartening that this letter could be written about several dogs in my neighbourhood, too. One Akita is tied by an eight foot log chain to the trunk of a major conifer where it has no access to any form of shelter.

Dear Editor

It is disheartening that this letter could be written about several dogs in my neighbourhood, too. One Akita is tied by an eight foot log chain to the trunk of a major conifer where it has no access to any form of shelter. In two years I have never seen this dog walked or spoken to. In summer it goes all day without water if it knocks over its pail. The chain has worn a deep groove in the tree trunk.

This dog is not the only one in the area.

Our laws protecting animals are antiquated and lack teeth. No one has legislated power to improve any little thing for these neglected animals.

Just another vital issue Ottawa has sidelined while our MPs argue non-essentials and plan for re-election.
