Bilingualism shoppers

Dear Editor, After four decades and multi-billions of dollars, Canadians have not embraced the concept of official bilingualism, which is considered to be another politically-motivated scheme to appease voters in Quebec.

Dear Editor,

After four decades and multi-billions of dollars, Canadians have not embraced the concept of official bilingualism, which is considered to be another politically-motivated scheme to appease voters in Quebec.

The latest scheme of the government is to have 'secret shoppers' spy on businesses in Ottawa to see if they provide service in French.

The Vancouver Olympics came under fire because it was felt the event did not meet the requirements of the Official Languages Act - not enough French.

Business owners deserve a great deal of respect for their determination to keep their doors open despite being loaded down with government red tape of which official language they use and 'secret shoppers' are the latest efforts by government to impose its political agenda on Canadians.
