Boundary changes need to be redesigned

The boundaries for the constituencies of our federal members of Parliament are under review. The proposed changes would see the Saskatoon-Humboldt riding disappear.

The boundaries for the constituencies of our federal members of Parliament are under review.
The proposed changes would see the Saskatoon-Humboldt riding disappear.
The four Saskatoon ridings would be three Saskatoon urban only, with very large rural ridings outside.
Humboldt would be in Kindersley-Rosetown-Humboldt, stretching to the Alberta border.
Saskatoon plus rural riding MPs have been sensitive to both urban and rural needs. Six exclusive Saskatoon and Regina ridings will not be good for rural Saskatchewan. We need all 13 MPs in Saskatchewan to speak for our farmers and smaller communities.
MPs need to care about both urban and rural issues.
As a Humboldt area farmer representing Saskatchewan producers, I know from experience how valuable it is having a united Saskatchewan voice in Ottawa from all our MPs.
We need the commission drawing boundaries to continue to design urban-rural blended ridings.
