Well Humboldt, you proved it: you ARE reading the paper!

As you can see from the letters to the editor, we got a bunch of feedback from last week's editorial. Whether you vehemently disagreed with the piece or loved every word of it, it was inspiring to read through all your comments. Humboldt is changing and growing and like the community, our paper is evolving too. Our articles promise to be newsworthy and insightful, and our editorials may sometimes get people talking. But that's what we want -that's what YOU should want-some healthy debate flowing through the conversations taking place in this city.

That last little bit was no more apparent than at the community forum last Thursday night. Just walking into Jubilee Hall, you knew you were about to see something pretty inspiring take place. For a sleepy community like Humboldt has historically been, sometimes it's hard to accept that change is happening but more so, that you can have a say in it. But over 140 people turned up to the forum, ranging in age and with opinions needing to be heard!

People were talking, agreeing, disagreeing, debating and having friendly banter. No idea was turned down, no belief silenced. Just being in the room and hearing the humming chatter of people at their table as they looked over their maps, you knew you were watching the physical manifestation of democracy at its finest.

Get your voices heard. Do it.

Whether it's as a response to an edgy editorial in the Journal that caught your eye or something the City of Humboldt needs to hear about, speak up.

Your voice matters. YOU matter.
