Dear Editor
I was recently in North Battleford for a family celebration. I was born and raised in North Battleford but moved away approximately 35 years ago. I do, however, get back every three or four years.
On this visit, I was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful new complex (the Dekker Centre, field house, pool and curling rink). What a wonderful addition to North Battleford.
However, the downtown area is an eyesore — buildings boarded up, broken sidewalks, hardly any stores open. What a shame.
We discussed it at our celebration and think someone should tear down the buildings and maybe put a huge park in its place or anything that makes it look more attractive.
I always praise North Battleford to people who don’t know it, but was truly saddened to see the downtown in shambles.
