Establish hazardous rating for crystolite

Dear Editor I recently sent the following letter to Member of Parliament Gerry Ritz. Canada's policy not to list crystolite as a hazardous chemical is absolutely appalling.

Dear Editor

I recently sent the following letter to Member of Parliament Gerry Ritz.

Canada's policy not to list crystolite as a hazardous chemical is absolutely appalling. We know without a doubt this chemical causes cancer, extreme suffering and almost always death with few exceptions. That our government would willingly put other countries at risk for political or financial gain is despicable.

Having lost a family member to mesothelioma, a rare form of what we now know to be a preventable lung cancer, I speak on his behalf and all the people that loved him and miss him. There are many victims worldwide and many more to come because our government continues to export this substance for financial benefit.

As our voice in Ottawa I am asking you to please stand up against this policy.

I would also like others that are opposed to Canada's stand on this issue to voice their concerns to their representative.
