Fight back against health care system

Dear Editor

This is in support of Lorraine Wright's paid advertorial (Thomas Graham Wright vs Prairie North Health Region, Regional Optimist July 9). I knew both Lorraine's parents and her grandparents since I was a child. They, like many others in this area, were pioneers. They built the province, the hospitals and River Heights Lodge.

Today, health care regions are run by administrators and unions. Both are too powerful and we the people, should be mad as hell and refuse to take it any more.

If we take our dog or cat to the vet clinic, we do not have to sit in a waiting room for six hours before being seen. Recently, in Royal University Hospital, my 53-year-old son waited for six hours and finally left. He was having chest pains.

My dog gets better treatment and is never sent to a far away place to die. Shame on the health care system and shame on us for putting up with it.

I'm old and nearly blind and I dread living in a kennel.
