Humboldt ministerial Christmas: The Light of Men

"God had a rescue plan put in place. The good news is that God didn’t just limit his plan to the Jewish people. He made sure to include all nations and races in His rescue mission." —Reverend Araba Quaye, Living Word Church International

“In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
—John 1:4-5 KJV

In some translations it says, “the darkness could not extinguish it [the light]. When Jesus was born, God’s light was brought into the earth through Him.

At that time, the Jewish people were subjected to the dark oppressive rule of the Roman Empire. It had been 400 years since the people of Israel had heard a corporate word from the Lord or His Prophets, and the Jewish people longed for their Messiah to manifest, deliver and free them from tyranny and unrest – political darkness. But what was of even greater importance to the Lord, was for His chosen people to be delivered from the bondage and slavery of sin – spiritual darkness.

God had a rescue plan put in place. The good news is that God didn’t just limit his plan to the Jewish people. He made sure to include all nations and races in His rescue mission. That’s what we call the “good news”.

Jesus is the light of the world. He came to free everyone from the bondage of sin and impart His LIFE and LIGHT into anyone who will believe in Him. With His light impartation into your life darkness cannot extinguish it.

Arise and shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
