Dear Editor,
This is a reply to the "Performance drought drain on resources" (News-Optimist, June 25).
I am appalled that Battlefords Publishing would publish this letter, again. Its the same verbatim just in different context.
As a paper you are failing to provide the people of North Battleford with news. All you are doing is letting some petty fight play out in the paper, might as well just be a big gossip column for all to gawk at.
The Dekker Centre is a wonderful idea to try to bring people to North Battleford, to get acts and improve the city as a whole. However what some people seem to not understand is before we can get all these "grand" acts, we have to start small and make money.
That's how a business works. Heck that's how life works.
Stuff just doesn't appear because you want it to. It takes time. Do we need a variety of different acts, yes. But is complaining that nobody likes these acts and its a complete waste of the Dekker Centre, help the situation? No, it doesn't. It just shows how petty some people can be.
Writing a letter to the editor is not the way to go about change. Contacting the Dekker Centre manager would probably be the place to start, his name and email are on the Dekker Centre website, which is very easy to find.
The fact there is claim that the Dekker Centre board of directors is a secret society, is completely ridiculous. On Jan. 12, 2012 a press release went out announcing the board of directors to the public. I found it no problem. It's called Google.
