Road repairs badly needed

Dear Editor Where does one start? Here goes: last week, my daughter and I were visiting in the Battlefords and a few issues arose that I just could not let go without making a comment. Firstly, the access road to the Frontier Mall.

Dear Editor

Where does one start? Here goes: last week, my daughter and I were visiting in the Battlefords and a few issues arose that I just could not let go without making a comment.

Firstly, the access road to the Frontier Mall. What a disgrace, to say the least. That roadway has not been touched for at least eight to 10 years. It's very narrow and full of potholes.

Then when you round the corner, you come upon a semi-tractor trailer parked by the road, the driver presumably getting coffee at the coffee shop. There has got to be some funds in the yearly budget set aside for a road upgrade to the mall, Canadian Tire, the casino and hotel. Not very inviting for people visiting North Battleford.

Now, Town of Battleford, you are not off the hook either! The road to the Battlefords District Care Centre is another disgrace and that hasn't changed in many, many years. I cannot imagine driving out there to work or to visit a loved one every day and having to dodge the potholes. I'm sure an upgrade here is not out of line. Can't imagine the repair costs on all the vehicles.

Come on, council members, show some initiative and a plan of action to repair or replace these roadways.

Thank you for the space to voice my opinions.
