Still a Future for Saskatchewan Liberals

Dear Editor

First, I want to congratulate the premier on his victory and wish him and his government all the best.

I am one of those Liberals who initially went to the Sask. Party. However, after getting to know Ryan Bater, I went back to the Liberals.

In my opinion, the Saskatchewan Liberal party of today is the true "right of centre party" in Saskatchewan. This was evident during the campaign. It was the Liberals who actually talked about fiscal responsibility, reducing debt, stimulating the economy by cutting the provincial sales tax and how privatizing Saskatchewan Liquor sales would actually increase government revenues.

Even before this election, the Liberal Party was one of the very few voices that didn't agree with the way the premier handled the BHP Billiton/Potash Corp deal saying, that given the opportunity, shareholders would probably have rejected the offer as being too low and the market place would have taken care of what the premier had interfered with.

It should be an interesting next four years. I hope Ryan Bater and Saskatchewan Liberals continue to fight for what they believe in.
