Regarding the photo, "Little Birds, Big Beaks" in the Aug. 1 edition of the Regional Optimist, we have a nest just like it with four of these "Mouth Mash" swallows, only with a little more straw and mom's feathers sticking up vertically.
They made a nest near a doorway and over a window under an overhang that's getting more "toothpaste" by the day on it.
Thanks to Jayne Foster and you for publishing this bit of summer life. For us it's the second hatching.
