The urban squirrel is a member of the rat family. These little critters belong in the country, not populated areas. I know people think they're cute. Maybe so but, they should not be fed or treated like pets.
They carry diseases and I sure wouldnt' want a squirrel (rat) biting me, a baby or the family pet. They scavenge, eat bird's eggs and will ruin the wiring in vehicles, sheds, garages and homes.
So please everyone don't feed urban squirrels (rats).Take the time to read up on them and you will find out how destructive they can be. And their cute fuzzy tails, you will find out about them as well.
Once again, please don't feed the rats.
