As I tore off the thin layer of skin that had been peeled off an area about the size of a loonie off the top of my foot, I couldn’t help but think back to earlier that morning.

We took a day to celebrate dads this past weekend with Father’s Day. And while I could not spent the day with my own father, I spent some of the day on Facebook looking at the beautiful pictures of people with their dads.

Did anyone catch any of the US Open golf tournament from Shinnecock Hills in Southhampton, New York? If you missed it, boy did you miss out. And if you caught it you would have noticed a slightly less professional feel.

Who does not support the notion of “fairness”? Everything is better when it is endorsed. Even defeat is more pleasant when it is fair and square. It is one of those warm-blanket words that no one disputes.

Dear Editor This past Saturday, we had the sad honour of driving in a funeral procession from Sallows and McDonald Funeral Home to the veterans’ section of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens following the funeral of the late David McDonald.
