PELICAN NARROWS — Terry Custer won $104,896.40 and a Free Play on the March 5 Lotto 6/49 draw.
The Pelican Narrows local said he’s not a regular player and typically buys a ticket only when he sees a high jackpot. It took him a while to check this ticket, but the surprise was worth the wait.
“I scanned it at the store, and I was so happy,” he said. “Everyone was standing there watching and they were all happy and said, ‘Good for you—you won!’”
“I called my work supervisor first and he was happy for me too,” he continued.
Custer said he plans to enjoy his winnings with some new purchases.
“I wanna buy myself a Skidoo and maybe a boat,” he smiled. “I might also buy some lumber and fix up my cabin.”
“It feels so good,” he said. “I never thought I would win, and it was worth a try.”
Custer purchased his winning Lotto 6/49 ticket from Petro Canada at 3451 2nd Ave. W. in Prince Albert. He won his prize by matching five out of six numbers, plus the bonus number, in the March 5 draw. The winning numbers were 9, 11, 26, 36, 37, 42, and Bonus 24.
