P.A. police find male with gunshot wound sitting in the road

Police rendered first aid until an ambulance could transport the patient to hospital with what were later determined to be non-life-threatening injuries.

PRINCE ALBERT — The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating in relation to a shooting that occurred Tuesday morning. No charges have been laid so far.

While conducting routine patrols in the South Hill area at around 7:10 a.m. on Aug. 12, an officer found an injured male sitting in the middle of the road on 2nd Avenue West, says the PAPS. Police say they rendered first aid for an injury consistent with a gunshot wound until Parkland Ambulance arrived and transported the male to hospital with what were later determined to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigating, officers learned the shooting occurred at a residence in the 2900 block of 1st Avenue West. The area was then contained and officers detained three individuals from the residence for further investigation. At the time of the media release Tuesday, no charges had been laid and police are continuing their investigation.

Members of the Prince Albert Police Service Emergency Response Team (ERT) and a K9 officer with the Ministry of Corrections, Policing, and Public Safety also attended and cleared the residence. Members of the Saskatchewan Marshals Service also assisted with scene containment.
