Police vehicle involved in collision in Prince Albert

An officer was en route to a call for service with their vehicle’s emergency equipment activated when it collided with another vehicle.

PRINCE ALBERT - Police are investigating following a vehicle collision involving a police vehicle.

On June 5 at approximately 4:30 p.m., an officer was en route to a call for service with their vehicle’s emergency equipment activated when it collided with another vehicle at the intersection of 28 Street East and Central Avenue in Prince Albert.

A preliminary investigation determined that the police vehicle was travelling with lights and sirens approaching a red light.

Another vehicle with a green light entered the intersection and the vehicles collided.

One occupant of the civilian vehicle had minor injuries.

The officer involved in the collision was treated by paramedics on scene and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate.
