School bus driver charged with impaired driving

On June 5, police were dispatched to a school in the 300 block of 14th Street West for a call for service involving a reported impaired driver.

PRINCE ALBERT - The Prince Albert Police Service has arrested and charged one man following an impaired driving incident on a school bus.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on June 5, police were dispatched to a school in the 300 block of 14th Street West for a call for service involving a reported impaired driver.

Initial information stated a bus driver had backed into a vehicle. 

Arriving officers spoke with the male bus driver before conducting a mandatory Approved Screening Device (ASD) test, which resulted in a fail.

At this time, the male driver was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

At the time of the collision, the driver was the lone occupant of the bus.

As a result, the 68-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving and exceeding .08 in a motor vehicle.
