SASKATOON - Average retail gasoline prices in Saskatoon are 133.34 c/L, down 0.4 c/L from last week's 133.79 c/L., according to GasBuddy's daily survey of gas outlets.

This compares with the national average that has increased 0.3 c/L in the last week to 136.40 c/L, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com. The national average has decreased 4.3 c/L during the last month and stands 26.6 c/L lower than this day one year ago.

“The national average price of gasoline in Canada saw a slight increase over the last week, with most provinces posting gains, except for Manitoba and Saskatchewan, where prices edged slightly lower,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Much of the upward pressure was tied to recent fluctuations in oil prices, which fell over $2 per barrel before bouncing, and continued seasonal demand. While volatility wasn’t as pronounced in Canada as in U.S. price cycling regions, Canadians should still expect some localized fluctuations heading into August, especially if global oil markets remain unstable.”
