SASKATOON - West-central Saskatchewan is in the bullseye for severe weather Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm watches for a wide section of west central Saskatchewan including the cities of Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Lloydminster and The Battlefords.
"Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorms will move into central Saskatchewan from Alberta today as a low pressure system develops and travels east. Some of these thunderstorms may be severe. These thunderstorms are expected to persist and travel eastward through Saskatchewan through the day and into the overnight periods before moving into Manitoba. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible," Environment Canada said.
