Fell foursome and Kerrobert's Walker playing in provincial club curling championship

Wilkie's Lloyd Fell skips another team at a provincial curling event. Kerrobert resident, Christy Walker, competes on the women's side in provincial club curling

UNITY ‑ The Saskatchewan provincial club curling championships taking place in Kindersley March 24-28 include some familiar names.

Lloyd Fell is skipping a team at another Saskatchewan provincial event that includes team mates Keith Schell, Rob Bakken and Curtis Bowker from Unity Curling Club. Fell also curls out of the Unity Curling Club, saying that he has curled in many venues throughout the season and Unity club is second to none so is thankful to the staff and UCC executive for providing a terrific venue.

Fell recently skipped a different lineup at the Saskatchewan senior men's provincial competition earlier in the curling season. Schell was a member of Team Fell in 1997 when they competed at the Saskatchewan men’s curling provincials. Fell skipped a foursome that captured the Unity open league's season championship and his team included both Schell and Bowker, along with Brian Miller.

Christy Walker, Kerrobert resident who works in Unity, was part of Team Frolek on the women’s side. Walker has played competitive curling for a number of years as well as serving on the CurlSask executive.

Fell was defeated in quarterfinals by Team Tenetiuk from the Twin Rivers Club in North Battleford, knocking him out of further playoff contention.
