Football fever has begun in Kerrobert

The Kerrobert Rebels are preparing to guard the yard with practices underway and season soon to start

KERROBERT — The field is prepared and practices have begun for Kerrobert football teams.

The lights at the football field are of great benefit, extending practice and game times for the minor football program and high school football.

The Kerrobert Football Association says the season will start in early September, with their big event Oct. 6 when the juniors play a game with the Kerrobert Rebels following up with a game of their own.

One of the main fundraisers for the season will be the booth at the games, open each home game.

Another funding benefit for the teams is selling parking stalls around the field. The KFA says 35 stalls have been sold for high school games while 28 have been purchased for junior games.

KFA says they have around $13,000 remaining to pay off the lights project.

The organization will hold their annual general meeting Sept. 12 at the school and on the agenda are plans for future projects and encouraging more members to join the organization.
