DENZIL ‑ The Village of Denzil was the recent recipient of two $10,000 donations from neighbouring Luseland Credit Union and Synergy Credit Union, which has a branch in Denzil.
The donation was towards the Denzil roof replacement project.
“LCU always encourages our community to approach us with their donation needs," says LCU CEO Adam Franko.
"LCU has a very community-minded board and staff that often will see a need in the community as well. Once we feel there is something we can do to help within our community, LCU will approach the organization to see what we can do for them. Sometimes this help is volunteers, supplies, planning events or funds.”
The Village of Denzil approached LCU looking for assistance to reach their fundraising goal. After the request was presented to the LCU board of directions, the decision was made to proceed with a $10,000 donation to help with the project. Synergy CU was then approached in the co-operative effort to work with peers in the credit union system, and LCU worked with SCU in this effort.
